A woman chopped the head off a man who allegedly tried to attack her and then paraded the severed head through a market in northern India. Police arrested the woman after receiving calls from frightened shoppers who reported a blood-soaked woman carrying a severed head through the village.
The woman, 35, told police she had gone to a nearby forest to cut grass for her cattle when the man attacked her from behind. To save herself, she beheaded her assailant with a sickle. The woman had bite marks on her neck and cheek. The woman also told police that the man had been stalking and harassing her for three months and that she had no regrets about killing him. Police said they will likely charge her with culpable homicide, which is odd considering this sounds like a case of self-defense.
