Files under Casualties: Low, Crime
A man in Austria used a homemade flamethrower to kill his wife’s elderly parents. Then the 48-year-old man attempted suicide by stabbing himself in the stomach. He is in a coma but expected to survive.
Police don’t know the man’s motives. First the man spread gas in the bedroom of his 84-year-old in-laws, then lit a propane bottle on fire and threw it at them, burning them alive.
His mother-in-law suffered from diabetes and had amputated legs, so she was unable to flee. His father-in-law did escape but died soon after. The attack caught the apartment on fire, but firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to other apartments.
In spite of all our differences, the one thing that binds all living creatures is that we each have an expiration date. This finality to our existence is what makes life special, something to be cherished and protected. But occasionally things can go terribly wrong

My husband and I want to go on a spectuacular long vacation soon. We were looking for advice. Anyone have any great spots? A means to save some money would be nice too. Traveling is pricey these days.

Glacier National Park is amazing, though it’s getting a little late in the year to go.

Rocky Mountain National Park is another beautiful place. The Aspen trees should be full yellow about now.
