Ryan Seacrest Bitten by Shark

RyanSeacrest

American Idol host Ryan Seacrest was swimming in the Pacific Ocean off Mexico on Sunday when he was bitten by a sand shark, he said on his radio show Monday.  Seacrest was "about eight feet out" when he felt something swim by his legs.  "I thought it was a stick," he said. "I wasn’t sure what had happened."  Then "I saw it swim! He took a bite, and he left."

The shark left a parting gift with Seacrest to remember the encounter: the shark’s tooth was embedded in Seacrest’s toe.  "It wasn’t a great thing to find. It was like finding a splinter!"  Although he was in pain, Seacrest wasn’t hurt too badly and only "needed to take an Advil."

When he was asked by his radio co-host if anyone else on the beach was bitten, Seacrest replied, "No, just me, of course! There were like 1,000 people in the ocean, and I get bit by the shark!"

Rocky the Grizzly Bear

Rocky the Grizzly Bear, who recently appeared in a Will Ferrell movie, killed his trainer with a bite to the neck Tuesday.

Three experienced handlers were working with Rocky when the bear bit 39-year-old Stephan Miller on the neck.  The other handlers used pepper spray to subdue the bear, and there were no other injuries.

Rocky is a 5-year-old male grizzly, 7-1/2 feet tall, and weighs 700 pounds.  Rocky appeared in the movie "Semi-Pro" in which Will Ferrell’s character wrestles the bear to promote his basketball team.  In a February interview, Randy Miller, brother of the deceased trainer, called Rocky "the best working bear in the business," but also noted, "If one of these animals gets a hold of your throat, you’re finished."  Sad, but true.

Jerry Seinfeld Flips Car

Author: Taz | Files under Celebrities, Traffic Accidents

Jerry SeinfeldJerry Seinfeld flipped his vintage Fiat sports car after the brakes failed, but he walked away without serious injury.  The billionaire comedian was driving alone in the exclusive Hamptons region of Long Island, New York, when he realized the brakes were not working.  He pulled the steering wheel hard right to avoid hitting other traffic, and the car rolled over, first on the passenger side, then the roof, and finally coming to rest on the driver’s side.  The police report blamed mechanical failure and said Seinfeld had not been drinking.

Always the funny man, Seinfeld said after the accident: "Because I know there are kids out there, I want to make sure they all know that driving without braking is not something I recommend, unless you have professional clown training or a comedy background, as I do.  It is not something I plan to make a habit of."
